The general objective of the project is to improve competences of professionals working with youth experiencing mental health issues by creating tailored innovative digital learning material including methodologies based on humour and guidelines on how to trigger synergies with other sectors supporting vulnerable youth. Based on academic research, mental health professionals and youth and education organisations, the project will develop a new humour-based methodology.

The project involves 5 work packages:

  • Work Package 1 – Coordination and project dissemination
  • Work Package 2 – Comparative analysis of existing practices using Humour in Youth Work for a Better Mental Health of
    youth
  • Work Package 3 – Handbook for Educators through Humour based methodologies
  • Work Package 4 – Guidelines for synergic collaboration on stress management of youth
  • Work Package 5 – Certification scheme

The results of the project include:

  • A comparative report to support youth workers to understand the links between socio-economic and cultural barriers and
    stress, as well as existing practices using humour
  • A handbook for youth workers with activities humour-based methodologies to support young people
  • Guidelines and a toolkit for supporting synergic collaboration on stress management among young people
  • A certification system to validate the competencies of all project participants
