RuralConnect is a 24‐month CERV transnational project strengthening civic participation, gender equality,  digital resilience and climate‐aligned development in rural EU territories. The project mobilises citizens,  municipalities, NGOs and entrepreneurs across Spain, Italy, Romania, Ireland and Luxembourg. It delivers a multilingual Digital Hub, cross‐border exchanges, civic mentoring, youth creativity labs, policy dialogue with EU institutions and a sustainability roadmap. GENERAL OBJECTIVE: RuralConnect strengthens civic participation, gender equality, digital resilience and climate‐aligned development in rural EU territories through transnational collaboration, capacity building, and innovative digital tools.

Specific Objectives:

Mobilise Rural Communities:  Engage citizens, municipalities, NGOs and entrepreneurs across five EU countries in active civic participation and democratic processes.

Build Digital Capacity: Deliver a multilingual Digital Hub and participatory tools that enhance digital resilience and accessibility in rural areas.

Promote Gender Equality: Advance gender equality and women’s entrepreneurship through dedicated mentoring, training and policy dialogue.

Foster Cross-Border Exchange: Facilitate transnational learning, storytelling and youth creativity labs that connect rural communities across borders.

Influence Policy: Create policy dialogue with EU institutions and develop a sustainability roadmap for long-term impact.

Training course for Youth Workers

Diversity is not only about the presence of different cultural, ethnic, social, and identity groups in society. It is also a continuous and evolving process of mutual learning, solidarity, and co-creation. Youth workers play a crucial role in this process by empowering communities to recognize diversity as a collective strength and a foundation for inclusive development.Building on the foundations of the first edition, “Spaces of Diversity II” deepens the exploration of how social structures and power dynamics shape the perception and experience of diversity and interculturality. Over the course of four days, we will not only critically examine dominant narratives, institutional frameworks, and everyday practices that influence inclusion, but also co-design new approaches that foster active participation and cooperation.

Objectives: 

  • Deepen experiential understanding of diversity and inclusion – Move beyond conceptual discussions to explore lived experiences, intersectionality, and the emotional dimensions of inclusion in diverse communities.
  • Strengthen youth workers’ competences for transformative practice – Enhance participants’ ability to design, implement, and evaluate inclusive youth work initiatives that challenge exclusionary norms and empower underrepresented voices.
  • Explore advanced participatory and community-based approaches – Experiment with innovative, co-creative methods that engage young people as active contributors in shaping inclusive social and cultural environments.
  • Translate inclusion into organizational and policy contexts – Analyze how inclusive values can be embedded in organizational cultures and local policies, encouraging systemic change and sustainable impact.
  • Co-create joint programs and projects for inclusive communities – A part of the training will be dedicated to developing joint programs and projects, providing space for participants to translate shared ideas into practical initiatives that promote openness, equality, and collaboration across communities.

MenHealth (Empowering Men’s Health Well-being Knowledge Skills for a Better Life) is an Erasmus+ project that addresses health inequalities affecting men, especially those from lower socioeconomic backgrounds, by developing motivating and digitally blended educational pathways. MenHealth creates an innovative e-learning platform and learning resources that help men across Europe understand, improve, and take responsibility for their health and wellbeing, supporting the EU Inclusion and Diversity Strategy and Global Health Strategy.

 

Project Objectives:

  • Motivate men for greater understanding and responsiveness to their own health and wellbeing.
  • Deepen men’s knowledge and skills in five main health topics: physical health and sport, risk-taking and health-seeking behaviour, mental health and stress management, work-life balance, and overcoming harmful stereotypes.
  • Assess knowledge and skills acquired by men-learners using digital tools.
  • Improve the competences of adult educators in empowering men to take care of their health and wellbeing.
  • Share and promote the project results across Europe.

URRA KIDS is a two-year project aimed at young people between 13 and 17 years old, promoting their active participation in urban regeneration and the green transition, with a particular focus on the social inclusion of children from vulnerable backgrounds, including those with a migrant background. The project involves the cities of Palermo and Naples in Italy, Barcelona in Spain, and Dublin in Ireland.

The main goal of URRA KIDS is to empower young people by encouraging their civic engagement and strengthening their socio-emotional skills, through an educational path that will enable them to become active participants in the creation of sustainable and inclusive urban spaces. 

Activities include peer learning, local mapping exercises, and the promotion of green urban regeneration initiatives, culminating in festivals and awareness-raising campaigns.

The project will directly involve at least 1,800 children and indirectly reach 4,500 EU citizens, with the support of over 200 stakeholders, including civil society organisations, public authorities, and schools. 

Additionally, URRA KIDS will contribute to European platforms on children’s participation, promoting a more equitable Europe with children as active decision-makers.

The program “Spaces of diversity” is focused on a critical analysis of social structures that shape the perception of diversity and interculturality. Over the course of four days, we will explore how dominant discourses, institutional frameworks and social relations can encourage or hinder inclusion. We will place special emphasis on participatory methods that enable young people and marginalised groups to actively participate in the creation of spaces that represent and include them.

Program was held from 6th to 9th May in Osijek (Croatia), a city in eastern Croatia, at our community centre “Social atelier.” Social atelier is a place where DKolektiv empower citizens to think about the needs of their community and with our support address them through organizing events, gatherings, panel discussion, workshops, exhibitions, protests and others.

The general objective of the project is to improve competences of professionals working with youth experiencing mental health issues by creating tailored innovative digital learning material including methodologies based on humour and guidelines on how to trigger synergies with other sectors supporting vulnerable youth. Based on academic research, mental health professionals and youth and education organisations, the project will develop a new humour-based methodology.

The project involves 5 work packages:

  • Work Package 1 – Coordination and project dissemination
  • Work Package 2 – Comparative analysis of existing practices using Humour in Youth Work for a Better Mental Health of
    youth
  • Work Package 3 – Handbook for Educators through Humour based methodologies
  • Work Package 4 – Guidelines for synergic collaboration on stress management of youth
  • Work Package 5 – Certification scheme

The results of the project include:

  • A comparative report to support youth workers to understand the links between socio-economic and cultural barriers and
    stress, as well as existing practices using humour
  • A handbook for youth workers with activities humour-based methodologies to support young people
  • Guidelines and a toolkit for supporting synergic collaboration on stress management among young people
  • A certification system to validate the competencies of all project participants

The CirculART-e project revolves around visual art education as well as digital and circular skills with the aim of boosting social entrepreneurship of youth with migratory and minority backgrounds across Europe.
To achieve this goal, CirculART-e includes different activities: development of curricula and training guides, promotion events to inform about the project and its outcomes, workshops to learn more about the methodologies and approach used in the project, and more.

Project activities:

Training of youth workers on blended visual education practices: This 5-day training is aimed towards youth workers from across Europe for February 2023 in Italy.

Transnational Training Test: This 5-day workshop is aimed towards the testing of all materials and videos with the help of youth workers for April 2024 in Germany.

Virtual Transnational Sense-making Workshop: 2-days virtual blended transnational activity involving all the local groups of young people in each partner country. The activity aims to understand and “make common sense” to the results of the empathy map assessment made on the local levels.

Training of youth workers on learning and co-designing of an education video: This 7-day training is aimed towards youth workers to learn more about the learning of and co-designing of an educational video tutorial for September 2023 in Spain.
International and local multiplier events: The project includes international and local multiplier events to inform about the project results and materials and enable interested parties to find out more about the project.

The project aims to strengthen the links between policy, research and practice both in the youth as well as in the welfare sector by raising awareness on the importance of end-users’ involvement in research and policy development among youth and young carers’ support workers by upskilling them to that end and by promoting their work. Finally, the project aims to support active citizenship, sense of initiative and entrepreneurship of young people and, in particular, of young carers.

THE NEXUS PROJECT AIMS TO DEVELOP:

  • A multi-language training program about the core-competencies needed by youth workers to contribute to research and policy around young carers, together with a guide for its replication by other providers.
  • An open online educational resource (OER) for youth workers across Europe to
    acquire the skills they need to engage in evidence-based policy development.
  • Policy recommendations to meaningfully engage with youth workers, young carers, service providers, researchers and policy makers in the format of a national and European workshop.
